Trying to figure out where I'm going... with work, climbing, guiding, blogging. Spring is getting near - time to think about climbing and guiding... dusting off my resume and making calls... trying to get a feel for what opportunities may be out there... not sure where VW fits into things... need more freedom in my schedule than I currently have. My #1 goal this season is to complete four Grade IV climbs. These are climbs that are a full day in length with the possibility of an overnight bivy. In order to qualify for AMGA guide training I have to have four of them under my belt. Local possibilities are:
  • Serpentine or Backbone Ridge on Dragontail Peak
  • North Ridge of Mt. Stuart
  • Dreamer on Green Giant Buttress in Darrington
  • Town Crier at Index
  • Liberty Crack on Liberty Bell (Grade V)
There's a few others that escape me right now, but I'm serious about it - this is "career development" as far as I'm concerned and I'll be very disappointed if I don't accomplish it this season. So I guess my priorities are 1) climbing and 2) guiding/instructing enough to float my boat, however I can work that out. Anyone out there want to join me?
