It's official

I'm an Alpine Ascents mountain guide. To view my profile, click here.

Training went well, shook some of the rust off, worked on getting high camp at Muir set up, and went on a summit climb with the other guides. Made the summit crater at 10am on Tuesday - it was windy, cold and clear with views from Mt. Jefferson in the south to Mt. Baker in the north: beautiful! The route's in good shape - lots of crevasses to navigate on the Ingraham Glacier - I took a small fall into one when the lip collapsed on me, but nothing too alarming. My first trip with clients is Sunday - should be interesting. I've got enough work in June to pay the bills and enough free time to either work for extra dough or go climbing - nice. :)

Biggest challenges: gotta' update my guide medical kit and figure out how to keep my lips from getting sunburned.
