FYI, I was accepted to the American Mountain Guides Association Rock Instructor Course this past week, as was my climbing partner Chad. It will be conducted at Smith Rock in Oregon next April for ten days. This course is not required by my work, but I'm looking to learn some new skills and techniques for guiding in a rock climbing setting. It's also a step toward official AMGA certification as a guide. I'm not yet certain I'll go that route, but it's a possibility. At the least it provides an added motivation for training!
